TST & US2 Team for VISN 15 Energy Upgrades at VA Medical Centers in KS, MO & IL
HANOVER, MARYLAND – TST and US2 are excited to announce the recent award of an energy-efficiency improvement project for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. TST will survey, measure, design, manufacture and install thousands of custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) that will restore the thermal efficiency of steam piping at nine (9) VA Medical Centers throughout Missouri, Kansas and Illinois. In 2011, TST | US2 completed it’s first VISN-wide insulation project for the Dept. of Veterans affairs which required the manufacture and installation of over 7,000 RICs in ten (10) VA hospitals throughout AL, SC & GA. This groundbreaking energy project in VISN 15 is scheduled to commence in October of 2013.
TST will conduct onsite insulation assessments of all buildings, manholes and tunnels to identify un-insulated steam valves, strainers, flanges, heat exchangers and other miscellaneous fittings that are contributing to energy losses at the facilities. Following the assessments, TST will present a detailed report to the VA that will include theoretical heat loss calculations along with recommended thermal solutions for all piping and equipment that shows signs of substantial energy loss. Once the VA’s Energy Management team has approved the recommendations, TST will proceed with design, manufacture and installation of RICs in a turnkey manner.
