SALEM, VIRGINIA – Thermal Science Technologies, LLC (TST) and Utility Systems Solutions, Inc. (US2) have successfully completed another project for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs at the Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. Over a two day period, TST performed an insulation assessment of all buildings on campus to identify bare, uninsulated steam valves, strainers, flanges, tanks and other misc equipment that are a source of unnecessary heat losses. In the following weeks, TST designed, manufactured and installed over 1000 custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) at the facility. The installation of RICs will help the VA reach their long-term energy goals and it will allow them to avoid repetitive and costly replacement of conventional insulation on steam piping in the future.
TST has enhanced its competitiveness in the Federal marketplace by maintaining a strategic alliance with US2 for over a decade. Our alliance with US2 allows us to provide energy-saving insulation solutions to federal agencies while fulfilling their small-business participation procurement goals.
