TST Awarded Insulation Upgrades – Dept. of Veterans Affairs – VISN 7

Steam Management, Inc. (SMI) has awarded TST an energy-improvement insulation project that will take place at two (2) VA Medical Centers located in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, AL. This will be TST’s 2nd project for the Dept. of Veterans Affairs in VISN 7 as installed over 4,500 Removable Insulation Covers in eight (8) VA hospitals back in 2014.  As part of the Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC), TST will return to two of the same locations to measure, design, fabricate and install Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) on steam pipe fittings and heating equipment. Having removable, reusable insulation will save the VA facility money over the years as the insulation can be removed and reinstalled when maintenance or repairs are necessary on the valves,  strainers and other equipment.

SMI provides ESCOs with turnkey energy conservation solutions for a broad suite of services including mechanical equipment and insulation for steam and hydronic and domestic water systems. SMI’s senior leadership brings decades of energy conservation industry experience and their industry knowledge, solutions-oriented approach and commitment to long-term relationships set them apart. Our alliance with SMI allows us to provide energy service companies with insulation audits and turnkey insulation contracting services for federal Energy Saving Performance Contracts. Together we continue to deliver innovative energy-saving insulation products with the best combination of performance, pricing, scheduling, and experience in the industry.
