TST Upgrades Veolia Energy Baltimore’s Steam Distribution System
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – In May of 2013, TST returned to Baltimore to upgrade the thermal efficiency of steam piping in three (3) manholes on Veolia Energy’s steam distribution loop. For nearly two decades, TST has been providing Veolia Energy with custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for manhole piping systems. Our turnkey contracting services for RICs consists of measurement, design, manufacture and installation. All measurement and installation work for RICs is carried out while the steam piping remains in service which often results in hot, rigorous work environments. Our experienced team of field technicians is confined space trained and will only enter these confined spaces after setting up adequate ventilation measures. Wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and using confined space entry equipment allows our field technicians to work safely and efficiently at all times.
Veolia Energy’s district energy network serves the central business district in Baltimore from several different steam production facilities and one chilled water facility. Veolia Energy Baltimore owns and operates over 15 miles of steam distribution piping that serves over 250 commercial, government, institutional and hospitality customers.
