TST Completes Steam Distribution System Upgrades on Capitol Hill
CAPITOL HILL – WASHINGTON, D.C. – In February of 2012, TST wrapped up a five year effort to insulate hundreds of valves on steam distribution piping within several buildings on Capitol Hill. TST was contracted by an ESCO to survey, measure, design, manufacture and install custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) on valves as part of a Super Energy Savings Performance Contract (Super ESPC) with the Federal government. The Super ESPC contract involved many other energy conservation measures (ECM) which combined for an estimated savings of $210 million dollars over a 15-year period. For confidentiality reasons, TST is not permitted to identify its client or any specific locations for the work at this time.
