PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – Thermal Science Technologies, LLC (TST) has successfully completed it’s third project for NRG Energy Center Pittsburgh.  TST thermally restored a section of 12″ high-pressure steam piping that is housed within a round 18″ concrete conduit adjacent to Vault #NE3. Unexpected flooding conditions within the conduit caused the existing asbestos insulation around the steam line to wash into the vault. After the vault was decontaminated, TST was called upon to inject ConduFill® into the conduit to thermally restore the piping and to encapsulate the remaining asbestos insulation in place.  The project was completed in just one day.
