Steam Manhole Insulation Upgrades
In October of 2021, TST was contracted by Vicinity Energy to measure, design, fabricate and install custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RICs) for all steam piping and fittings in five (5) steam distribution manholes in the City of Baltimore. We are proud to say that we have been providing Vicinity Energy (formerly Trigen Energy, JCI & Veolia Energy)with custom-made RICs in their manholes for nearly 25 years.
Marine Corps Air Station – Energy-Savings Performance Contract
In early June, Steam Management, Inc. (Boston, MA) awarded TST an energy-improvement insulation project at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point located in Havelock, NC. TST mobilized in late June to measure over 700 valves, strainers and other fittings for custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) in 25 buildings on base.
NIEHS Thermal Restoration of Buried HTHW Piping
DURHAM, North Carolina – In October of 2020, Thermal Science Technologies (TST) successfully completed a project that involved thermal restoration of over 12,000 LF of buried high-temperature hot water supply and return piping at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) campus in Research Triangle Park, NC. TST also designed, fabricated and installed custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for 24 300lb. HTHW gate valves located in 4 different valve pits on campus.
