Project Details

In early June, Steam Management, Inc. (Boston, MA) awarded TST an energy-improvement insulation project at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point located in Havelock, NC. TST mobilized in late June to measure over 700 valves, strainers and other fittings for custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) in 25 buildings on base.

More Project Details

The RICs were designed and fabricated over the next four weeks and our team returned to the base to begin installation.  Having a removable, reusable insulation option will save the military base money over the years as the insulation can be removed and reinstalled when maintenance or repairs are necessary on the valves, strainers and other equipment. In addition to installing RICs, TST also insulated 1,900 LF of piping and several hundred fittings with PVC covers in many of the same buildings, mechanical rooms and boiler plants.  TST’s exclusive blanket partner and provider, Arrowhead Contractor Supply (ACS), has been onsite for 5 weeks and we expect to complete the work by the end of August.
