UC Boulder Awards TST Removable Insulation Cover Project
BOULDER, CO – TST is excited to announce the award of an insulation project from BT Construction, of Henderson, CO, that will be performed at the University of Colorado at Boulder. TST will measure, manufacture, design and install custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for all high-pressure steam piping in four (4) vaults on UC Boulder’s campus. All RICs will be fabricated with a hydrophobic Pyrogel® XT-E insulation. Pyrogel® XT-E is a high-temperature insulation blanket that is formed of silica aerogel. It possesses the lowest thermal conductivity of any known solid and is reinforced with a non-woven, glass-fiber batting. Pyrogel® XT-E is ideal for manholes or vaults that are prone to flooding, as it repels liquid water and restores the thermal efficiency of steam piping. TST is scheduled to begin the measurement phase of this project in January of 2015.
