Veolia Energy Boston Awards TST Removable Insulation Cover Project

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS – TST is excited to announce the recent award of another insulation project for Veolia Energy Boston. TST will measure, design, manufacture and install custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for all steam and condensate piping in 18 new manholes in Boston.  This group of manholes is part of Veolia Energy’s Lechmere Viaduct Steam Line installation project. The on-going project involves the installation of 7,000 LF of 18” high-pressure steam piping that will tie a power plant in Cambridge to Veolia’s steam distribution system in Boston.  TST’s measurement and design work for insulation is scheduled to begin in at the end of August.

For nearly two decades, TST has been providing Veolia Energy with custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for  manhole piping systems.  Our turnkey contracting services for RICs consists of measurement, design, manufacture and installation. All measurement and installation work for RICs is carried out while the steam piping remains in service which often results in hot, rigorous work environments. Our experienced team of field technicians is confined space trained and will only enter these confined spaces after setting up adequate ventilation measures. Wearing proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and using confined space entry equipment allows our field technicians to work safely and efficiently at all times.

Veolia Energy Boston serves approximately 240 customers across the commercial, government, institutional and hospitality genres – supplying centralized heating for 44 million SF and cooling for approximately 9 million SF.  The system consists of approximately 22 milles of steam and chilled water distribution piping.
