Insulation Upgrades for Chobani Yogurt

Project Info

Location: New Berlin, NY

Category: Institutional

Project Details

Working for E4E Solutions this past October, TST removed and replaced pipe insulation and cladding piping systems at the Chobani Yogurt manufacturing plant located in New Berlin, NY. Our team removed and disposed of existing insulation and cladding before installing new, energy efficient ASJ fiberglass pipe insulation and aluminum cladding on condensate piping associated with 20 HVAC units.
TST also fabricated and installed custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) for new steam traps that were recently installed throughout various pump trap stations in the vicinity. Our RICs can be removed and reinstalled when future maintenance or repairs are necessary on the steam traps, so costs of conventional re-insulation are avoided and saved.
A special thanks to our experienced insulation team Chad Ronkartz, Jonathan Morgan and Zach Smith who completed the work safely and ahead of schedule.
E4E Solutions’ (Alpharetta, GA) consistent application of proven and emerging technologies provides cost-effective solutions to its clients in the ESCO sector. TST and E4E’s partnership on this project allows us to provide turnkey insulation solutions that will realize significant energy savings.
Chobani’s New Berlin plant is one of two major yogurt manufacturing sites currently operating in the U.S., with the other being in Twin Falls, Idaho. A third $1.2B manufacturing facility is currently under construction in Rome, NY which will give them capacity to deliver more yogurt, drinks and creamers to customers throughout the U.S.
