Under contract with Steam Management, Inc., TST was pleased to measure, design, fabricate, and install over 1,200 custom-made Removable Insulation Covers (RIC) on steam piping, fittings and heating equipment at four (4) VA Medical Centers located in California, South Dakota and Colorado. In addition, TST installed over 2,700LF of fiberglass pipe insulation and 1,000 PVC fitting covers on bare steam piping and fittings in mechanical spaces, tunnels, crawlspaces, and boiler plants at each hospital. Our projects, located at the San Francisco VAMC (CA), Hot Springs VAMC (SD), Fort Meade VAMC (SD) and the Rocky Mountain VAMC (CO) were completed safely over a 90-day period and were finished ahead of schedule. As part of ongoing Energy-Saving Performance Contracts (ESPC) under Energy Services Group, LLC , and TL Services, Inc., the installation of TST’s removable, reusable insulation blankets reduce heat loss immediately, saving energy and reducing generation costs at each hospital.
Our removable insulation blankets can be removed and reinstalled when future maintenance or repairs are necessary on fittings and equipment, so the costs of conventional re-insulation are avoided and saved.
